New England boxer Brandy is coming to Northern California April 14-21st
and she will be staying in Santa Rosa. She's looking to meet up with
some of us if anyone has time. I should be available any time -
Thursdays are my bad day since I drive the carpool. Mim - what's your
schedule these days?
I am leaving for Dartmoor on Tuesday (really I should be either packing
or carving right now) and may or may not have much internet access
while over there. Hope you all can work out a good day and we can
figure out the details when I'm back.

Always ready to meet an out-of-town letterboxer! I'm available for a trip to
Santa Rosa Monday the 17th and Wednesday the 19th of April (Easter is the
16th). Old Blue would be there in spirit only as he's the one who brings home
the bacon.

Hey, guys! Don told me I was posting on the wrong list when I set a
message to the Pacific Northwest Group. (Hey, I'm a New Englander...
what do I know? ;) )
Anyway, as I posted on PNW, I'm visiting my grandparents for about a
week (spring break! A great part of teaching!) and I think it would
be really fun to meet up and exchange with some CA boxers. :) I'm
sure they'd let me out for an afternoon or so. My grandparents are
very sweet people, but they are not (NOT) hikers at all, so as much as
I'd love to spend days on end on the trails of beautiful Sonoma
County, I think I'll have to settle for snagging some drive-bys. ;)
I do have a hithchhiker that I found that's supposed to get to all 50
states and has so far been bouncing around Connecticut and
Massachusetts. I'd love to pass that on as well. :)
I don't have any solid plans for that week yet. I fly in on the night
of Good Friday, and I'm guessing that Saturday and Easter (naturally)
are out, but maybe we could meet up at a coffee shop or a winery or
something for a bit?

It would be great fun to hook-up, even for a short time. My schedule
is a bit crazy right now, but I'll keep my eyes open on this list to
see if/when a meeting can happen. I will certainly try to adjust my
schedule to join in.
There are many wonderful boxes in Sonoma County! And, the weather
should be better!

Yes, we're already talking about getting together with you on our chat list.
PrincessLea and I are available to travel to the wine country when you're
out here. I'm available on Monday and Wednesday, 17th and 19th.
Princess Lea is heading over to Dartmoor England tomorrow for 3 weeks of
letterboxing (LUCKY!!) so we'll talk more when she returns. I'm sure Mimulus
will be interested in joining us if she can. When you're about a week out, send
us an email and we'll finalize plans. There's TONS of great boxes up there!

I'm sure there are! I want to snag some of the drive-bys that are at
the wineries in Santa Rosa and possibly see if I can get a morning to
myself to go do Jay Drew's series in the state park. Sugarloaf
something...? I was looking at it last night. Anyone done that one?
Jay's stamps out here in CT are fantastic. :)
Also, my uncle and I are going to see the Winchester House in San Jose
at some point, and he's a pretty fun guy. He may take me to some
drive-bys there as well. :)

Sugarloaf park has the Planet Walk series by Mimulus which is a wonderful 9
box series but takes 3+ hours. There's another series there as well,
"Sideways". . .something. And then there's the Drew's. We've gotten all the Planet
Walk boxes and the first of the Drew series by the waterfall. You could
certainly spend a couple of days in this park!
As for the Winchester House, I've loved within 50 miles of it for most of my
life and have never been there! Always sounded fun though.

The Winchester Mystery House in San Jose is an unusual and interesting
place to visit. Before or after you go, have your uncle take you to
the Rose Garden in San Jose. There's a quick letterbox hidden there.
And another couple of boxes are very close nearby in another
interesting locale.
